Midi question

Ok, I got this great setup, working pretty fine:

pc with MT, Alesis D4 drummodule and 3 Roland drumpads. The D4 is connected thru midi to the pc. Each pad is assigned a function in MT using the config window. One pad plays the module, one loops the current pattern and one stops the playback. This way I can operate MT while drumming.

Now a problem arrises: I tried to connect a trigger to the D4, which should play a drumsound directly from the D4. What happens is that the sound is indeed played, but also MT plays the note using the current selected instrument, usually the first.
The D4 always sends out all incoming triggers as midi notes. I can't turn it off for a trigger.

The three pads mentioned earlier don't output a drumsound because I use them as switches. I can turn the volume to 0 per trigger. That way the midi note is received by MT, but nothing is played because of the 0 volume.

Is there any way to turn of midi playback in MT without disabling the miditriggers for playback/stop etc?

Disable keyjazz, go to an empty track and create an empty instrument. You can also mute that track because it will play with sample #0 I think.

Thnx Smile

Maybe an idea for a new feature: ignore all midi except for the notes that have been programmed in the options dialog?
