I'm not sure what you mean...?
If you just press the EQ button without changing any of the parameters, will that make your sound unclear?!
I've not noticed anything like that at least...

Ah, wait a minute; I think I know what you mean. I've noticed that the EQ does not work good if you use "New Engine (Experimental)" .. It will give a crackling sound when using the EQ.
Turn it off in the first options section.

No, you must do some eq changes, then sound start to crackle on this track...

Seems like you are right. I've unchecked "new engine" and it seems to sound fine now, thanx.
Conclusion: "New Engine (Experimental)" is experimental  |

The new engine is (or is supposed to be) the same engine as the old one, but re-written in higher-level language so that it is way more flexible. It is work in progress for future enhancements on the MT 2.x series (if any that is).
