save & load pattern?

Hi MadTrackers,

I am quite new to tracking, but I am surprised how much I have already figured out how to do with MadTracker.

Here is my problem/question: I believe I am right that only one instance of MadTracker can be open. So, copying and pasting patterns from a song in one instance to a blank song in another is not possible. Right? So I have picked out some patterns I like in a song and saved them into a folder I made named Patterns. I opened a new blank module and went to Patterns/Load and selected one of my saved patterns but nothing happens. What am I missing?

I understand that I have to load instruments to hear anything, but I'm not even getting the pattern to open in the editor. Thank you for any help.

You can not have two MT.exe running at once, that is true. But you can highlight and copy a pattern, load a new module and then paste the notes into the new module. Its a labourous way to work, but it is possible. You would have to load the instruments again and arrange them according to the instrument number in order for the copied notes to play as the original module. Smile
