Right now it's only a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum.

The sound quality, both recording and listening, is not bad like some might think, but I miss the opportunity to record in 24 bit ..

But I have mixer which the monitors is connected to, a Behringer MX2004A .. which is also a subject to be changed sometime in the future =).

But I can assure you that the monitors are very good for the money; just remember to muffle the walls and put them on a couple of mousemats to muffle the sound which in other case will reproduced on the table. You can also adjust some parameters on the back of the Behringer monitors to adjust them to fit your listening room.

Also remember that you must put them in an angle of a triangle where you are in the middle of the speakers, with about one meter from each of them.

Like this: (view from above)
Code:

\_\   /_/ <- monitors

   _o_     <- you

You should also be in the same height with your ears as the monitors are.

.. the most important is though to learn how the monitors sound.

Seriously: don't do it so quickly. I've heard the Behringer in an identical setup as the KRK's, and the Behringer aren't as good as the KRK's for production. Especially their high frequencies sound enhanced, and their low a bit more muddy. They therefore sound more impressive, but are less honoust.

well I first used 2 old crappy passive speakers for everything, i think this will be a major leap ahead

ofc the rokits are nice... but also pricyer I am a poor 17 year old student and I dont have a lot of cash (owkey now for the moment maybe Razz)

the Behringers have a great price/quality ehmm... euh [dutch]verhouding[/ducth].. ah wait... it pops into mind... ratio that is yes

the users within MadTracker community are happy to purchase this set of speakers, so will I be Smile

(and I seriously HATE the collour yellow) but thats of non importance ofcourse ^^

It's a difference of approximately 50 euro (http://feedback.nl/?id=55&b=KRP5 vs http://feedback.nl/?id=55&b=BB2031A), so that's not much of a big deal. If you want to proceed anyway, then check out http://feedback.nl/?id=55&b=BBB2031A. Not a clue what b-stock is, but it will save you 2x40 euro = 80 euro.

Simply put, take the time to go to some music hardware stores and listen to the speakers for yourself, don't just take our word for it. Any respectable store should be able to set up some sort of listening enviroment for you where you could listen to the speakers. Perhaps you can even borrow the speakers home for a week once you've narrowed down your selection to a few pairs (although this probably comes into play only when the speakers cost €1000+ a piece...). Take some CD's with you that you know well and make a judgement based on what you hear.

thats kinda the problem... all major souns hardware stores and that kinda stuff are far away... and IF they are there they only sell passive speakers... *points at "mediamarkt"*
I highly doubt if they sell balanced cables -_-'

and if you go listen to the speakers then acoustics in a room are always different.. they always sound different at home, because of an other setup etc.

i am sure if I would hear em I would be ok with em anyway

I am listening and producing now on 1 passive speaker (my other died out) that is muddy, old and produces a crapload of strange artifacts on high levels of sound
atm I want to have good pair speakers as fast as possible, because this sucks dick... a very BIG dick tbh Razz

besides, there cant be THAT much of a difference between the monitors in the same price range (although I doubt that as Behringer got at some comparisons better marks then monitors of 3x the price), (for example behringer sounds like an old lady compared to any other speaker that sounds like a blond hot chick of 20)

wewt I got the behringers today, testing them out now

the sound is so clear, you can hear exactley what an artist did with the track they sound so nice and clear Very Happy

no buzzing or what soever, although (I think) the outputs of my soundcard aint balanced

I must say that some songs sound different on these speakers, Dani california for example of the red hot chili peppers quite sucks the vocals are just messed up

Californication on the other hand, which is of significant higher quality OWNS and sounds great same with jack johson stuff

Marroon sounds... well.. reverby ^^ If you like rock then these monitors aint the way to go I must say hmm oh well

^^ back to tracking with these beauty's

hmmm eminem sounds perfect Very Happy
