Aye, I've got some options if I ever see the drive. However, I've emailed him that he should pack the files and send the one file to me. Then, if there are any file issues, I can send that file to one of you guys. |

So, another problem is "PowerPacker". If someone of you remember the old packer from the good old amiga times.
In ProTracker you had the possibility to pack the modules while saving them. But no winPC nowadays knows how to decrunch it. So, first of all you have to be sure that the mod files are not PowerPacked...
The converting should be easy. With DirectoryOpus or just in the CLI...
Maybe you can burn the Files on a cd and convert it with WinUAE, but never try to read out a Amiga HD with WinPC. I can tell you that Bad Billy Gates writes his shit on every device that can be reached by his Windows System. So you will never read the disk again, when connected it back to the Amiga... |

Yeah, those things are all true. The mod files are not PowerPacked though, I never did that. And ofc I checked if I could mount it on a pc first - if that were possible I'd never send it away. |

Ah, yes, you can't edit the songs that's powerpacked, but they can be played with Deliplayer.
Yes, I can help you out, if you send me an archive with the powerpacked modules (is it VERY big?).. Another option is that you actually install WinUAE yourself and unpack them that way with a PowerPacker tool..
E-mail me!

I used to track on Amiga back in the days, and i did power pack alot of my files to conserver presious harddrive space.
At one point a guy made a complete HDD backup onto a normal CD for me, it was normal iso format so i can use it in my pc.
I did convert all the songs but its quite some time ago, i either did it with deliplayer or with Modplug Player, Im fairly sure Modplug was able to load powerpackerd mods.
And you just click save as, and its done.
You could also use an amiga emulator like WinUae, and try to find old pro tracker and load and re-save the mods without the powerpacker option... i did this too with a few of my old songs. |
