Some sounddrivers are known for the fact that they aren't being 'released' when another program wants them. I think that Madtracker 'claims' your soundcard, which gives problems once you switch to another program that uses the same sounddrivers. Try using a different sound device in configuration->audio->device (such as the standard windows sound mapper).
Please let me know if it helped, and what soundcard you use.

As it just so happens, I have a better solution for you. Don't ever switch out of MadTracker! Duh.
Hope that helps,

I'm using the DirectSound driver in MadTracker. That works well until I switch to another program that uses the DirectSound, for example WinAmp. Then MadTracker stops playing, but when I switch back, I can 'enable' MadTracker again by pressing Ctrl-F12 (Enable / disable sound) twice, the driver will then be reloaded.
I can use MSN Messenger next to MadTracker, and also with Cool edit Pro 2 there is no problem.
It might be else on your pc, since I'm using winME. I don't know much about XP.
Hope this will work

Go to the MT2 sound setup and try the different drivers avalible. I know Ive had problems with one of them in the past but It resolved it self some how (cant remember what I did).
Latest sound card drivers and direct X might also help.
With the Sblive (and better) More then one app can use the same audio source. That is driver controlled. Dunno about other sound cards or built in sound cards. |
