I used to use Med Soundstudio, then I started using Renoise. After seeing what this program has to offer, I may be switching to MT.

There are options that are crucial for me though:

How do I enter live chords? So far I've only been able to enter notes in one column at a time.

Is there an equivalent to the option "record note delays" like there is in Renoise? This allows for there to be notes basically played and recorded live between the lines by using a delay command.

If these options are in the program, I'm there.

I love the fact that the program uses pulldown menus instead of 2 color monochrome buttons everywhere like Renoise, and the buttons MT does have are easy-to-recognize-in-color. I like the fact that the pattern editor scrolls in a way that doesn't seem like its bogging down the computer. For the most part, MT seems to be a lot more intuitive than renoise--the keyboard mappings are a little to get used to, but I really like what I see so far.

Thanks for considering MadTracker, Kizzume!

To enter live chords you can use the multi-channel edit (MCE) option. (Enable it from the top toolbar or the configuration.)
With this option enabled, you have to mark tracks as "recordable" by right-clicking on their label.
When done, you can now record live chords in the specific set of tracks while playing (ensure the edit mode is still enabled while you play, use the spacebar key if not).

About the finer live recording, MT does not currently support that, but it is planned. It might be in the final version of 2.5.

That's an cool option, though I find it quite unusable as long as ASIO is not supported.. Too much latency otherwise Smile
