Damn...lol...now I got it.
Well cool idea but hard for me.
Seems like it doesnt work for me.
The stabtunes own too much basic melody...
And we should keep the stabs and dont change it....right?
Of course I´d love to make some hip hop thing out of it, with some scratching, fat beat and all.
I can´t work with these stabs, unless I try another genre...lol.
Sorry.....
edit:
I hope you guys get what I mean...
Helpful would be a shorter loop...piano...anything....
but these stabs go over 4 (short) patterns and its hard to make a complete different song out of it.
To my point of view at least. |

Chief, well it is all about fun anyways , what if u use the pads that could work , so the rules about the stabs are not that strict, maybe u can only use them in a bridge/break or something that way it would be a remix after all,
Made a little sample for you chief (and others if u like) just to illustrate:

(I know i'm not a hip hop artist but i bet someting like this is spitable ) |

To Franklin Van Uden...
If you wan't a web for this compo, check mi msn on MOVAJ@hotmail.com and talk to me.
We can make a short page with all information, and then with the results and if you want with all the song of the compo in direct download, changing all song to OGG Vorbis format.
but, well, is only an idea jaja!! see you soon:P

i have no webspace to set up a website specialy for the compo, the idea was to post the results and winning track(s) on this forum, however a webpage with results and remixes would be awesome !!

Well it is also a learning experience, almost everywhere midi files are the base for any remix so that's why i didn't toss the mt2 file anyways, remix is all about own creativity
@ Sunbuster, such a shame i was really looking forward to your version, ah well, just quit your job and go for it after all |

the mt2 file would basicaly be the same, only easyer to work with seeing that the midi file is 64 lines long, and totally scrambles the melody, and throws the parts around (e.g lead at track 0, arp at 16, base at 32 etc etc) |

copy paste wil solve that in 10 seconds, and the melody etc is not scrambeled here.. |
