Sunbuster:   Bad

If one would have to sum up QBicals music in one word, I think the word most people would think of is "weird". I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again, it always amazes me how QBical is able to combine weird sounds into a working and enjoyable pattern. No exception here either, although the sounds used aren't THAT weird this time around. :)

The drumpattern seems a bit ordinary somehow. I know, I know, there are only so many ways in which you can make a working drumpattern, and in some cases a simple, ordinary drumpattern is what works best. But in this case I think I was expecting some thing a bit less ordinary than the basskick-snare combo you hear in a lot of trance tune breaks (yes, trance tune breaks).

To be honest, and I hate to say this and was pretty shocked to realise it, but the tune felt a bit long, stretched out by force. There were numerous occasions when the song came to a break and I figured "ok, so that was it", only to find that the tune still had some left. The tune came to a climax, ended, and started over again several times. This tune could succesfully have been divided into several parts, like Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygen part 1,2,3, etc ;)

Purely sample and instrument qualitywise I have no comments. It's QBical quality like we're used to. But the layout of the tune could have been more thought through I think.

Overall a great piece of work, but compared to previous instalments of QBical's work (and lets face it, you'll always be compared to your previous work to some extent), it's not quite up to par.
