When you create an empty and new module, and record a wave, the waveform itself is visible. Then create an instrument, attach this wave to it, and try to play it back.
You can, but you won't hear anything. The timebar does move through the wave, but the oscillators remain static, and your speakers too.
On the other hand: if you record something, and by that overwrite an existing sample of an existing instrument, it will work.

Haha...that's hilarious! Indeed, the default volume for new-recorded samples is zero! Good: I'll change the title of this thread.
I would furthermore like to know why the oscillator stops moving when the recording starts. It gives people (including me) that nothing happens (or something frooze) when you hit the record button.
So:
1: after having recorded a sample, make the default volume 80.
2: keep the oscillator moving, but make a red-flashing button that says 'record' (like in soundforge), so that people know that it's actually recording.
Please (magic words included).

[Yes yes, I know, MT is not meant for pro-recording, but still. Some small usability-items could atleast make it an acceptable device for quick & rough recordings, and for new users who aren't eager to start messing with sixteen programs just because they want to perform some basic stuff.] |
