 |
Hey there,
I'm running a P3 600EB, 256M SDRAM, mainboard with VIA Apollo Pro chipset, and Win98SE. (Yes, I know I should upgrade ).
I have updated the Hyperion drivers and BIOS of my mobo as per Inge's instruction but am still having a problem.
When I try and quit MT2 after a session that contains any VST or VSTi it will not close.
Amongst all of the "Violation de l'address..." errors I get "MT2 has performed an illegal operation..." error messages that will not go away. I have to shut down the PC before the taskmanager will close the error box.
I know I ought to use an OS with a more responsive taskmanager (i.e. W2k or XP) but I am not made of money.
The only way I can avoid this error is to delete any VSTs from the session before I close the program.
Am I doing anything wrong or is my system just not up to it? |

Hello Pete,
Don't overstress: MadTracker should fit your system, your system should not fit MadTracker. The current RC5 can give heaps of problems on certain systems: so far, especially non-NT4 versions of Windows (Windows ME, 98(se) and 95) seem to suffer from it.
Yannick is working on a update for RC5 that might solve your problem. Keep an eye on this space!

Hehehe, that's what I'm using, 98SE and I'm getting these French error popups all the time. I don't know French, so it's like it's swearing at me and I don't know what it's saying. |

Thanks Inge, and of course Yannick.
Despite the problems I've been having, I'm really blown away by the new version of MT2 - VST and VSTi support is a fantastic feature. Congratulations on a marvellous product, and I look forward to the fix. |
