Just wanted to share this with you. I have written the last of the hardest exams and passed it The rest shouldnt be a problem. Only one easy exam and of course the diploma. If everything works I`ll be ready in August 2005. Well at least I have to since the diplom engineer branch is running out at my UAS making space for the bachelor / master.

Congratulations! Throughout all the years I've always read from you that you were busy with this education, so this is a great achievement!
What exact education do you follow, and what will be your title and profession if you're finished?

Depends, if everything works I will be a diplom engineer for telecommunications. In worst case (the case I cannot finish the diploma early enough (August 31) would mean a swap to the Bachelor including 8 new exams. Not much of a problem but I need additional time plus in germany alot of companies have no idea what a bachelor means. Well anyway I`ll try my best to get finished as early as possible .

One tip. Study something you really like and visit some lectures before. I am interested in telecommunications and allways wanted to know how things work. Now I know it but it was a hard way. I never imagined how much math I`d need for this. This studies are more like this "write and forget". At least most of the students think that here . But like I told you I am rather thru it the only problem thats left now is time.
Thank you all for you encouragement. I am sorry I couldnt work on the site yet but hope it is still usefull. There is still work to do here so I hope you understand.

Congrats on the degree, BM. How far up the math tree did you have to climb? I pretty much lost all my Calculus skills, lmao.
( Hey Walter, nice avatar. Is that Laterno? ) |

Technoid:
- gaussian algorithm
- Fourier-, Laplace, z-Tranformations
- complex numbers
- differential equations
- integral calculation
- probability functions, gaussian distribution
- statistics
- coding, Viterbi algorithm, Fano, Huffmann, LZW
- signal theory including autocorrelation functions
The problem is not the math really it is the way you have to apply it. E.g. in integrated circuits you have only broken terms but you need to combine the meshes and currents right.
The understanding is quite abstract. I can give you a link to some exams of my professors if you are interested
The most abstract one was definitely high frequency technology which was the last one I passed. There is only GSM left and of course the diploma. A friend of mine finished it in 6 months I hope that for me too.
Again thanks alot for your encouragement

Ugh, meshes and currents and transforms... I've forgotten all of that. Learning those compression algorithms also looks interesting. Did you also touch base on Lanczos and BSpline?
Sure, I'll take a looky at those exams. It will probably give me a headache, as all my neural pathways will all simultaneously disintegrate. After all that engineering, I only settled for an Associates in EE, eons ago. |

Well be happy that you did forget it
>Learning those compression algorithms also looks >interesting.
Well it seems so but it isnt real interesting.
>Did you also touch base on Lanczos and BSpline?
No we havent discussed those.

I can give you links to Integrated Circuits (Schaltungen und Systeme) and information processing (Nachrichtenverarbeitung).
Exam archive (Klausurarchiv) . The site is only available in german language. |
