Gnejsi - Hidden Sense (Mom better not be listeing edit)

Hey people! I've been working on this track on and off now for the last month or so. Figured it's time to hopefully get some feedback on it since I won't be able to work on it for some time to come Cool Originally it was intended to be used as a suqqestion for a madtracker demo song (bundled with madtracker), thus all instruments in it are either from the sample pack or the VSTi's bundled. But then I found these cool vocals, so... Smile

Anyway here it is, my first release in closer to one year:

And about the mom better not be listening part, I do mean it. Otherwise she might ban you from internet access and her VISA, thinking you've gained access to some, ermh, sites with women of questionable morals Wink

Great to hear something from you again!

Really cool track, but the 'organ' (or whatever) that comes in at 1.22 really ruines the atmosphere for me.

The 'drum & bass' beat with that really punchy electronic kick (you strange, strange man) caught me off guard. But that's cool. The hihats kind of hurt my ears, I think they're too harsh.

Next to that, excellent track, real special, wouldn't know what genre it is. Nice work.

the hihat, the ones in the background (which is way panned to the one side) that is "looped" or has an 24 fx on it, and flange? (at 03:42 you can hear them very well) makes me a bit nervous, it doesn't seem to fit that good rythmicaly. the strings and fx sweeps are nicly built into the song, like the vocals, I could agree to that the other hh's that is in the front is a bit to sharp. I get the feeling it's a bit dry master. good stuff tho!! can tell that sunbuster made it =D

and why do you want a mp3 Tom? winamp plays OGG!!!! files, it should say oggno off!! Mr. Green

Nice mix, I'd say add some reverb to the Hihats. All the levels are great, something I need to work on, and this is a good example to fallow. "completely under her influence",the songs, good job Sunbuster.

Sweet piece of music... Got me into a trancy state but then I thought of the hihat.... Other than that the track is very well produced, well the hihat that is panned and kinda out of rythem (mentioned earlier) could be left out IMHO. The female vocals are great, fits right in there. The beat is so forking sweat, love it! A superb track! Keep it up!

I'm okay with the song too concerning how it sounds in general. Nice and relaxing, like goo' ol' Sunbuster always seems to do. And since it's drum 'n bass, it needs a strong steering hihat programming Very Happy

two things:
1: The vocal is very low concerning quality. It's sounds like a crappy realaudio file. Isn't there a better source to sample these sentences from?
2: Some variation here and there might be nice. The tune is a bit *too* sweet at the moment. Some unique sample or instrument to hook me up would be nice.

Thank's for the feedback, man! been wondering how long it will take the forum DnB buff to sniff this one, especially after Walter Vos said the magic words in his post Mr. Green

That's part intentional, part no better source available. I ran them through a radio-like filter, thus probably degrading them some more, but on the other hand maskerading some disturbing low background noises. Figured not everything has to be crispy clear hi-fi Wink

Like I said in the original post, the initial intention with this track was to use only the samples and VST's provided with Madtracker 2.5 RC5, and that's how I've kept it also as far as the instruments go. The only thing you won't find in the RC5 are the vocals Wink But about the variation thing, I am in fact looking for something to spice things up... Smile
