sometimes i get these messages while i try to load a module:
"read error on this file"
and next one
"error while cleaning vst plugins"
i must try a few times to load the song |

It looks like a plugin initialization failed.
After you get the error, see if you can see some VST plugins in the list already.

seems like i sometimes get "empty module" or sometimes module is loaded but some plugin is missing.
sometimes all is loaded well |

When you see only a part of the plugins, give me the list of thoose which remain. It's more likely that the first missing plugin is the one that has the problem with MT.

I have also encountered this error message, but it does not seem to be related to a specific module - most of the time it is my impression that MT just needs time to start up properly. The module will in my case always load on retry or perhaps if I load another and then retry loading it. |

Try to disable the chat, the check for news and updates to see if it improves the stability.

Trying to load the Chainsong2004 remix from N0N:
I frequently get "Read error on this file!" and "Error while cleaning VST plugins!"
I can load the song once out of 20 at best.
I reinstalled MadTracker and I wasn't able to load this song at all since then. Same error messages. No VST in the list.
MT2.5RC5fix2 Chat etc. disabled
Windows 2000
512MB RAM
Athlon XP 2600
M-Audio Delta 44 |
