 |
Well, my school has a tracking class every 2 years. And this year they're going to use fruity loops as the offical tracking program...makes me kinda sad but ahh well. As it stands i'm in the class, but we don't have fruity loops in yet. So our professor asked if anyone had any suggestions as to free alternatives and i showed him madtracker. And low and behold its now what we're using until we get in fruity loops...although i still prefer the madtracker interface hands down.
Just thought i'd let ya know = ) |

That's nice!
Is it really a "tracking" class? FLStudio is not really a tracker... but it depends on the meaning of tracker. Sounds more like a multi-tracking class then?
Anyway, glad to know that MT is being used in school!

PS: Aren't students too distracted by the built-in chat? |

haha well thats the thing, its a "music tech" class and our teacher is just moving us towards using software based soley on the computer. And as for the built in chat, we haven't even used it yet, so students don't know about it yet haha. |

I've heard this story before, madtracker being used in class... Can't you make a educational license yannick?
Would be cool, when you can get a master degree in 'madtracking'

I'm at springfield college, massachusetts
We just got in fruity loops so now the primary program for music is that, and madtracker second. Although i suspect that madtracker will be used alot more because people can use it back at their room where as fruity loops is only avaliable in our labs. I'm kinda the person everyones going to about using it...i should start selling t-shirts too! |

Hehe!
Well you can eventually unveil the chat feature so that they can cheat in class!

Guess what, one professor here has build a device to detect cellphones that are probably switched on to avoid people sending SMSs during the exam sending possible solutions for exercises.

hahaha, well couple problems arise there, one we can't get on to MIRC here at school...i could figure out how to get around it but i'm too lazy too look it up, so the chat feature wouldn't really work here
But on the plus side theres no need to cheat because the final and mid terms are pieces of music we present to the class after working on them alot anyway so no need to cheat |

It's a classic. I've used MT in several summer camps & town animations.
I've also got a message from an Australian music teacher who makes his students sing my MT compo 3 entry - Turn the sky all blue - Obviously not everything is wrong in Australia, Lollie

That's the kind of stuff you can earn at the yearly MT compo !

An uncle is the boss of the local psychiatric asylum (any doubts about it ? Listen to my music ) and his daughters downloaded MT too and (try to) start tracking...
So after all, you're maybe not that wrong after all...

Hey, an MT T-shirt would be a very cool idea. Designs needed ?

One of my teacher one said :
- During an examination, I call a handy a "throwy" !
The best way to be sure no one sends answers using SMSes is still to... destroy the students cellphones ! |
