 |
I remember about a decade ago, there used to be yearly assembly competitions, and groups would put out demos that included tracked music. One of the groups, Renaissance (i think) had a sweet tracking program called 'mmedit', or at least, i think that was the DOS command to start it (it's been awhile (: )... whatever happened to all those guys? |

That mmedit was a programm called Multitracker. It used the .mtm format and was the 1st tracker ever (to my knowledge) that had 32 tracks (but as none of us had powerful enough computers to handle the mixing of 32 channels, except for those who had a GUS that handeled it via it's hardware, almost no 32 channels modules were released in the .mtm format).
I don't know what Renaissance became. Like most 90's demogroups : they vanished away... |

That's the way it is : People have to get jobs that take them all their time and energy, and have no more time for demomaking, music & stuff like this, unless they manage to make money from it...
When I think that 8 out of 10 big winners of the national lottery (big winners are defined as people who have won more than 5 million euros or 6 million dollars) say they don't know what to do with all the spare time they get once they can leave their jobs, I think the wrong guys get the good numbers... |
