Apart from the cutoff/resonance, I think I made exactly the same stuff some time ago. Ten years, to be exactly. 1: Bassdrum needs more depth 2: Total beats need more drive (variation closed/open hihat, bassdrum, crash, clap should make your head nod, not make you slumber) 3: One lead synth just won't do. Well, if you want to be a hardhouseproducer, then maybe. Nevertheless, play with different samples and VSTi's. Combine sounds. Be creative. 4: There's automation. It prevents you from entering endless heaps of codes for the filter/cutoff/resonance. Just click on the graph above the pattern interface. You'll be amazed. 5: Add a robust bassline to prevent melodic silence to appear. It furthermore gives your track a stronger drive. 6: Never release your first two tracks. Nothing personal btw. Inge

Okay ... I won't release the second song Thanx for the comments, Inge ... and it's about ten years ago since my tracking on the amiga stopped .... so maybee that's why it sounds so familiar with yours ten years ago I've noticed all the pionts you've mentioned, and give it another try, this time with more variation and samples ... Well. I wouldn't follow only one piece of feedback. Who knows what sort of total loser I am? Maybe others will immediately stab me in the back, calling me a no-excuse-for-living-moron who should stfu anyway. [Well. firstly, well done for your first effort! secondly the panning on the lead inst and maybe some others is messed up. not sure wether setting the panning to the left was intentional but in my humble opinion it ruins the over effect. generally panning offsets should be used sparingly and have variance over time for example using the same lead with a little 'stereo delay' might give a more pleasing effect. thirdly inge had a good point about the beat saying the bd lacked depth, generally (again, though i loathe to generalise) the beats on commmercially produced songs/tunes are quite loud and powerful. I believe this to be especially important in dance music where the beat provides the driving force of the tune. you might want to try layering two or more starkly different bass drums say one with a prominent pitch drop or poping sort of sound and another with strong bass to give a combination of audible and sub audible elements. umm, i think thats about it really, other than to say a valiant effort quirky and promising, good show, ta ta g x

First of all, gdev1981 thanx for your kind comment on my first attempt The depth of the BD is a good point , i'm already improving some MT skills (OMG... so much has been changed since the good ole Amiga tracking days ages ago ) So i'm fiddling around with some VST plugins and track effects, also to get more "Fatness" in the BD, and yes i added another BD track (lower pitch) to a new fresh song, and it's quit satisfying ... Thanx for the advice gdev1981. I also checked out the automation option Inge was talking about ... and yup .... i woz/am suprised Thanx for the comments .... for now .... Back to MT Cheers ..
