Just curious, does anyone actually read the help and support forum? Because I notice there is a lack of activity in there |

Is there any opened topic you'd like to point out mechanism? Every problem has been addressed unless I missed some.

Yeah not so much a problem just need some resources.
I was just wondering if anyone had any good links to a sample site with lots of latin/brazilian type samples (vocals and acoustic instruments). Cause I'm working on a hybrid drum'n'bass/salsa track and it wold be nice to have some Portugeuse style vocal adlibs, plus some nice salsa hits. |

DJ Marky / Shy Fx style? You can check out the forums at dogs on acid (http://www.dogsonacid.com/search.php) for salsa samples (although most people there tend to dislike the 2003 John B salsa/mexican style of drum 'n bass). Another possibility is to listen to the Duality lp of Bitplane (http://www.ranchorelaxo.nl/bitplane/). He has some exotic elements with an heavy 'southern' touch inside his drum 'n bass. All these tracks are made in MadTracker, so interesting elements could always be retrieved via him (I think). There's no real salsa there though, but Bitplane might be able to help you out nevertheless (and duality is definately worth the listening to too!).

Not quite like DJ Marky or XRS. I'm trying to incorporate a more jungle/salsa rhythm and get away from the tech step feel. Have you heard of Azucar Letal? My reasoning is I would like to see people actually doing salsa to my music rather than a standard club free for all dance. |

just get yourself some conga. clave, washboard, timbale and bongo samples. that will get your salsa rythm going if your program correctly. if you're looking for vocals and trumpets and stuff, maybe just sample from old songs? look for boogaloo, johnny colon or ray baretto for instance. fruko y sus tesos also have an album from 1973.
i don't think there's anyone here who will have a pack they can send you that will forfill your sample needs right away.
good luck! and let us hear the results. |
