No MadTracker used, just my friend's song with my vocals. Drums made in Cubase, real guitars. Pure metal!!! Enyoy!

Czaja - guitars, bass and drumparts
XnmE - lyrics & vocals
mix & master by Czaja

Against The Wind
================

they tell you what are the rules
how to live and when to die
they want to chain your mind
conrol every word

you just want to live own life
but nothing is that easy
stay free, raise your fist
always stay against the wind

wake up
hail the dawn
stand to the next battle

rise up
this war never stops!

Love the song but I am having a hard time getting pass how shitty the mix sounds, namely the drums sounding distorted Wink

The guitars and the vocals sound great btw. Should have mentioned that before. Just need to hear the drums and the bass guitar better. Very Happy

I love it. the mixing is far from perfect, but at the same time I think that it suits the style more that way. to polish it to sound perfect somehow makes it loose it's charm. atleast that's my opinion.

The song is updated. Maybe the mastering is not perfect, but it's better.

OK XnmE you're probably starting to get sick of my comments Razz
The mix sounds a hell of a lot better this time around Very Happy

The bass guitar still sounds a bit subdued, though alot more audible this time around. The tom drums in parts sound a bit boomy/pushing too much air if you get what I'm saying, maybe tighten them up just a smidge. The ride cymbal sounds like it needs to be panned a little more to the right, and the high hats sound a bit washy. The crashes I think need to be a bit more prominent in the mix as well. Oh and the kickdrum could probably come up a little bit too, then again perhaps it's the bass guitar and the kickdrum fighting one another for space. Maybe take a few days off of working on this song and come back to it Wink

On a side note I've always enjoyed listening to your songs and thus far this is one defintely of my favorites. Always keep it a bit raw Twisted Evil

Good Luck

Comatose

P.S. In the time it's taken me to type this I've listend to the song probably almost 20 times.

Oh i dont get sick Smile Any comments are appreciated, especially constructive ones. I must agree, the bass could be more audible. About drumparts - Czaja likes strong sounding drums Smile but you're right there are too little crashes in the mix.

I'm glad you enjoy this song. I hope we'll do something more in the next future.

That's good to know Very Happy. Out of curiosity is there some distortion on the bass guitar? At times it sounds clean and others it sounds slightly overdriven?

I dont know about any distortion on bass.

A few words from Czaja:
It was a fast mix. Drums were not sequenced on different tracks, volumes of each drumsound were set up in a sampler, so no EQ on drums and things like that.
The bassline was made using clean guitar and it was downtuned via VST plugin, so it sounds like it is Smile

It reminded me of In Flames meeting Napalm Death. Very powerful riffs, very good melodies, and a very good drive. Thumbs up, Master of Polish Darkness!
