You might consider getting the following headphones if you are in need of some, but are on a tight budget.
Sennheiser HD 201
They are sold for about 25 euro / dollar. Even the puritans from HeadRoom could not resist it, and rated it the best headphone concerning quality for money.
Ofcourse, these won't give you the studio-flatness that high-end studio headphones give, but they might provide an excellent tool for general music listening and basic audio work. I'm thinking of buying the thing for my mp3-player, although I prefer in-ear for mobile activities.
