Posted: Sun Aug 07 2005 21:07 Problem using EDIROL Orchestral VSTI |
 |
Since Madtracker doesn't support VSTi's with multiple outputs, I open several instances of Orchestral so that I can get all of the orchestra sounds...however when I go to reload the mt2, all of the preset sounds that I had selected in each of the vsti's are replaces by the default settings. This only happens when I have several of the same vsti loaded in one song file. Any idea what's going on? |

just use one edirol vsti in your track...
1) load the ( multi out ) plugin
2) create new instruments
3) link the instruments to the VSTi
4) Change the ( midi ) channel of the instrument to the matching instrument of the VSTi
That way you should bypass this problem and save some cpu cycles!!
The wierd saving problem with multiple of the same VST's remains though. Although I don't have it...

It's a well known issue with Edirol plugins. They don't seem to save their settings in any host.
I'd love to be proven wrong though.

No, I meant that Edirol wasn't saving its presets for some reason.
MadTracker supports multi-output plugins, but will redirect all the outputs to a single track.

It happens always with Edirol Orchestral for me. Orchestral just doesnt remember settings after song reload. It makes me sad. It means i can only use default set of instruments. Any single instrument changes or whole set changes aren't saved with the song. It's really not caused by MT? Do you really can't do anything with it Yannick? |

Can't you just save the preset as an ( *.fxp ) file and reopen it lateron?

The preset file generation uses the same code as for the module saving. So I doubt it'll help. I think it'll generate an "empty" preset file.

Tested. You're right Yannick. It doesn't work. |
