Download.com reviews for MT 2.5

I'm currently installing someone's new machine with XP and all related audio software, and downloaded MadTracker from Download.com via the downloadsection of MadTracker.org. There, I stumbled upon this review:
http://www.download.com/MadTracker/3640-2170_4-10422552.html

Now, being western European and all that, I firmly believe in free speech and a public voice. I'm happy that this person said this, since it shows the urgent need that there was for a quick-start guide (which now is available; joy to the world!). Nevertheless, this review has apparently been written by someone not completely capable of judging the program properly.

I therefore would like to ask you to write additional reviews. I do urge you to be honoust. It has no use to Yannick (and me) to pretend living in a perfect world. It's just that I'm still working on the survey-results, and the overall grade MadTracker gets is about 8 out of 10. I therefore hold the opinion that this review might scare away potential users who would find much joy in the program if they only started using it.

Thanks in advance,
Inge

I mastered Fasttracker 2, before I started out with MT2, but still I felt it was hard to learn MT (master all posibilities MT can offer). I can't imagine how hard it must be to start learning MT2 without any knowleg about trackers at all, or music in general, so I kind of understand why he wrote that review:D But what professional music tool is easy to learn???

...when you first master MT2, you will be addicted to this powerfull music tool forever!Very Happy

(I learned mt2 without any tutorials, but I hope the new tutorial will make the learning curve much shorter)

Btw: added a review myself:D

Thanks!

I see the point of your review. Since MadTracker does not focus on a visually explanatory interface (as a piano roll does), the initial learning curve can be very steep.

More reviews are ofcourse welcome!
