Yes, but think about the listeners (and the reviewers) who'll have to download the plugins.

If there are more like TNK, then we should definately consider increasing the amount of plugins. Nevertheless, I personally also find that Elijah's point is true. Or, to quote any past girlfriend: "oh, Inge, it's not the size that matters, it's what you do with it!".

Well. Nevermind that. The thing is that approximately 20 plugins can already cover quite a spectrum of possibilities, and therefore styles. If anything obvious is lacking, then we'll just add it. Don't worry, start voting!

P.S.: before this debate is going nowhere: please give examples of plugins that are *necessary* to create a certain style. Debating hypothetical problems doesn't lead anywhere. No offence, but I just wish to debate real problems, not hypothetical ones. |

Exemples :

- Kjaerhus chorus --> Required to make nice guitar chords sounds (with tracked guitars, I mean). If you have other tips on how to acheive such a sound without that plugin (or without any other), let me know.

- The Simulanalog guitarsuite --> Any better free guitar amp around ?

I understand that, because of reviewing needs, the list of available plugins has to be narrowed down. But why narrowed down to 10 ? Couldn't it be more ?

We could atleast have 1-2 plugins of each kind in the selection (exemple : 1-2 choruses, 1-2 compressors, 1-2 guitar amps, 1-2 substractive synths,...).

Besides this, I've already casted my votes (in the plugins page this time) |

votes casted on plugins that can be gotten only in a pack with other plugs will mean standalone casts (to that specific plug) or a vote on the whole pack (so all plugs from there can be used)? i`m for the latter |

I suppose you refer to the Classic series? Yes, if a plugin is part of a pack, we won't alter the original packaging - so all the plugins will be there. I didn't really think about that when I announced the voting.

I can see why TNK wants more plug-ins, but I myself only ever use like 5 plug-ins (synths and effects).

15-20 VSTs is what I'd go for. |

I am very new to plugins, so I basically don't know what I need. The plugins I am using right now might as well be wrong for others that have tested "all there is to test" and found out which works and perform best in overall.

So, if I throws in some votes now, I might screw it up totally for the really good plugins that someone else voted for.

- I think I'll leave the voting to the pro's.

No one forces you to use vst plugins. Yannick is pretty hardcore concerning the tracker-interface, so he'll probably won't simply give that up. Just neglect the green&red-vst button. You might wanna typ-ex that area blank. |

haha. this could turn into a whole thread...

vst's are great to use for solid synths with good volume and filter envelopes. for those of us poor saps that can't sample from our own hardware synths. I personally like vst because i can create my own sounds instead of searching days/weeks looking for that *one sample*.

but on the other hand some like to do it oldschool. |
