Posted: Fri Sep 16 2005 21:17 MT2 Problem using Arpeggiator from V-Station |
 |
hi folks, i have a small problem...
im working on a track that uses the novation v-station vst.
when i choose to select the 'arpeggiator' function at the plugin the sound of the plugin get lots of latency and at the end of each pattern it cuts the arpeggiator movements and play a short silence. only when i use madtracker 2.5.0 i get this problem.
my system should be fast enough...
i'm using a 1.4Ghz processor with 512mb memory and e-mu 1820m soundcard wich runs with asio2.
does anyone knows where to search and solve this problem?
thx a lot guyz... |

Is this a free VST? might help if we could try to recreate the problem. If it's not a free VST it get's a bit trickier.
Have you tried lowering the playback quality of MT (in the config window)? |

I have reproduced this error/bug - however it seems less apparent or non-existing if you export your file to wav. |

Yes, the rythm appears inaccurate when changing patterns. I`d be interested if you experience the same problems with the export file. |

aight,
i did what you told, and it actualy helped. but it is not solve the whole problem:
the silences at the end of each pattern are gone. (thank god) but it still have al lot of latency....
i've uploaded a small audio clip to show...
the arppegiator and the kick line both has to start at the same moment but the arpeggiator line starts about 4 lines after the kick line.

I have listened to your sample - but I am not sure I understand what is wrong.
Have you doublechecked your settings within V-station? You can finetune your arpeggiator settings by choosing the "extra" panel on the top left hand side of the v-station window. (main - EXTRA - controls - global)
EDIT: Also try the different "Sync modes/clock source" under the GLOBAL panel.
If you have already tried different settings there, and you have sufficient CPU power to run the V-station (verify by loading only V-station and no other VST) then check V-station homepage. Im sorry but this is the best advice I can think of.
I hope you find a solution!
EDIT2: May be related to soundcard latency as suggested in link below:

aight, i will try this one.
i think that is impossible becouse i work with an e-mu 1820m soundcard wich is a special made soundcard for this kind of stuff and it runs with asio2. my whole hardware (MIDI) studio runs on it to with zero latecy!
anyway, lots of thanks again!!
and i will write down the results whitin a few days. |

No - I cant get it to work properly either. There seemed to be some improvements/effect when pressing the LATCH button, but then it wouldnt read the END NOTE properly. Im sorry we couldnt find a solution. |

hehe, it's a sad story... i stop searching the problem.
i will do it the alternative way and replace it by another plugin that features a arpeggiator.
big respect for the time you made free for helping me out man.
