Always hard to judge a newcomer to tracking, as of myself I started tracking back in 85-86 on the C-64 and Amiga, which is almost 20 years ago.
But basicly, making music is all about experiment and learning how to work with the samples/instruments you got at hand and fit it all together. Either in harmony or in chaos of experimentals.
First: You definitely should look up some new sample resources on the net/musicshop, try to start with http://www.samplenet.co.uk/ -or- http://www.modernbeats.com ...
Secondly, start reading about basic studio techniques if you want to improve your overall music "sound". A nice book in Swedish is called "Digital ljudinspelning i ett nötskal", which is written by Jeff Strong. http://www.pagina.se/bok.html?20735
Third, get a Mic - and don't be afraid of using it to your songs. Try compose your own lyrics, and work-work-work: sooner or later you will make a hitsong!
This should get you started, - now only your creativity is your limitation. MadTracker skills will grow as you explore.
Remember: Compress your vocals to avoid the volume going freaky up and down, use different tracks for each instrument making it easier for EQ, so that not every sample fights for the same frequences, and last.. Experiement with putting effects on the tracks. Reverb are great for vocals and guitars, aswell are delay etc... Those are your main tools, the rest are "special" tools when you want to go further to achieve the very special sound-of your-own kinda thingy.
Good luck composing, mate! Hope to hear more in the future. |

Yo! I liked it.
That piano does not sound good.
In my country there was MegaSoundSystem,
ugly rap-band with extreme lyrics, they played similar thing.
...replace tha piano man! |
