That's a pretty silly argument IMHO. It's not because it's about ghosts that the voice should be blurry and muddy to the point you don't understand anything. Maybe it'll work for Mylène Farmer, but for a dance/trance track the voice has to be clear and catchy.

i agree with yannick, maybe use some reverb for effect here and there, or reversed reverbs and stuff, but never drown the lead vocals

what is hip?

That's the picture from the cover of her book (she does some acting & modeling too), and yes, she is quite photoshoped here.
But I can provide you some "real" pictures :

But as she wants to acheive a very "Farmerian" sound (she has the same qualities and also the same flaws in her voice than Mylene has), this makes a sense.

Hi TNK,

I took the liberty to make a version4.

The bassline is quite different now on both patterns, especially on pattern01 whereas the singing wasn't following the bass groove. I made some different offbeat tries, where I also ended up reversed the beat on the second half of the pattern (which was wierd), but in the end I think this version4 is the best try after 15min of experiments... Smile

Btw. I am going to Estonia for some days now in my work, so I won't be able to give you updates on the Lea project. I also have a sunshine song ongoing, but I will update you when I come back. Give or take a week from now.

Hmm. The version of Magnar is the best i think. The problem i have with it that the melody has the same notes as the singing. Maybe the melody should be different to the voice melody...

I believe that TNK was just using the melody in his first versions as an example of how the vocal would go...

When I merged the recorded vocal wave with the singing into the patterns, the melody itself in the examples is somewhat pointless. Smile

I think also what I treid to archieve was somekind of "break" in the song, whereas the bass is not hitting the same 1/4 note all the time. I don't know how it will fit in the overall, but I guess TNK already has moved on and made his choices regarding this or that... Wink
