After showing our ugly faces, why don't you show us your place, or just give precise coordinates ? We'll find satellite images of your place via google earth

I just want to say that my place is usually all but that brown & dirty like on the pictures I have from google earth... except at the end of the winter, when those pictures were actually taken.
As my place has hi-res, I managed to measure the length of the shadow of my neighbours house, and therefore, using trigonometry, managed to calculate the height of the sun in the sky and, using some astronomy reference charts, concluded that the picture was taken between February 10th and february 20th.
To see how my place (and the neighboring towns) actually look like on some better seasons than mid february, you can watch some of my pictures here

No, Neuf, like in Chateauneuf du Pape, means "New". Therefore Village-Neuf means "New village", and therefore quite logically celebrated it's 320th anniversary last year  To be true, Village-Neuf was for more than 200 years a swamp area for banished people from the neighboring towns, and therefore nodody tought it would still exist 320 years after it's fundation
(BTW, Chateauneuf du pape means "The pope's new castle").
But indeed, Neuf also means 9 in french. Therefore I often use to write my town name as Village-9 and am working on a track called "Village-9 is number 1" |

hehe, I thought it meant: Castle number 9 in Pape county. It is (as i am sure you know) famous for its great wine. |

Not really. During the middle age, the pope moved his headquarters from Vatican city to southern France and that's why there are so many "[middle age thing here] of the pope" around (atleast in the south, I'm on the German border so quite far in the north of France)
And anyway, castles had no numbers. Numbers came with the computer age, when everything had to be put in numbers. And I don't think that the pope's computer back then had a very fast CPU
(Back in the middle ages, 6 P.M. was rather called "The hour when the sun sets in mid september". You know, back then, 99% of the population barely knew the decade they lived in... as if you would only know that we are nowadays in the 2000's but nothing more. BTW the famous "big fear" of the year 1000 is a hoax invented by some romantic novelists of the 19th century !)

Southern France having one of the best climate around for wine growing (ex aequo with Italy, Spain, Greece, California, Argentina and New South Wales in Australia), it's no wonder they do great wine there.

If your location has a green tint, it is not available as a high resolution image from the satellite.
If it has a gray/brown tint you should be able to zoom in to see individual homes/cars etc.
Here is a very high resolution of the company area at Ft.Lewis, Washington where I was once stationed.
