Posted: Fri Dec 30 2005 02:01 Midi input doesn't work with ASIO??? |
|
2.6 is great, I'm very glad to have the asio support, however, when I'm using asio as my audio, madtracker won't connect to my midi keyboard anymore?? any clues? |

Well, midi w. asio works in my setup, which suggests that this has something to do with your setup and not Madtracker as such... This might sound stupid, but have you checked that there aren't some weird settings in your soundcard drivers that say "turn off midi if asio is on"? What soundcard do you use as a midi-interface btw.? |

I've got an emu1616m audio interface/soundcard, and the keyboard I'm trying to connect is a korg microkontrol. I haven't checked the settings in the emu stuff, it seems like that'd be a weird setting to have...I'll check into anyway though... |

those are the worst kind of problems, the ones that occur without any apparent reason...
Ok, this I should have thought of right away, but does the midi work in other programs? If yes, try this inside madtracker:
In the audio config, select and apply another device (non asio). Then select and apply the asio device you want and close the config. Did that make any difference? Reason I'm asking is because I'm having trouble with my ASIO in madtracker and if I do this procedure after starting up madtracker then everything works as it should (click here for my complete description of this problem). Perhaps you're having something similar, only that it affects midi in your case... |

nope, didn't work...
Thanks for the suggestion though.
IF this helps anyone, I'm using an emu 1616m and their asio drivers...
My midi keyboard is the kind that plugs in through usb... |
