If it is that easy, wouldn't it be easier for the Madtracker Author to incorporate in the program.
|
This makes sense to me. The vst specifications are also available, but I don't think we are supposed to code it ourselves, is it? If it's really that easy, then why not integrate it? It makes sense to broaden possibilities for exporting music to make it easier to work with MadTracker in a collaboration where the others don't use this tracker. |

Implementing VST into MT and having a function to print patterns are really 2 different things. The first needs tight operation with the program itself, the second only needs to parse files and print stuff.
I may sound harsh, but I really can't be bothered adding this to MT2. My focus has switched to MT3 and I'll only fix bugs in MT2 from now.
Unless you want MT3 delayed yet a bit more?
And collaboration with non-MT users can be done with the MIDI export already.

Use "PrtSc" key to copy what you see on the screen, then paste into an image editor. You can print from there. It may not capture everything, but good for a quick printout. |

One can always make such a program. The MT2 file specifications are available. It shouldn't be that hard to make.

ok, so the file format specs that I can find in the download section says it's valid for version 2.5 only and that it was last updated 1999-04-26. Is it still valid for 2.6 in other words?
Converting MT2 files to scores could be an interesting side project, if I would have any idea how to start tackling the problem...
Could any programming language that supports file operations be used (Java for instance)? |

@sunbuster : same here, I have some C++ lessons at school, but I'm not experienced enough yet to take on the problem.
I've looked at the file specs of MT but have no clue at all how to conert it to the score
But if I get more experienced this would be a nice side-project in software-dev. indeed!

ok ok, so does this mean you could in theory compose music in a txt file...
I agree tho, it be could that I don't see the real use of such an implant but I think mt3 should be put infront. said that about much stuff now that has been suggested, but there is after all a limit for mt2. to keep up with other applications mt3 is probably a need in the future.
with that said I'll continue my coding of txt-tracker, it will look exactly like wordpad but I'll change the name, for commercial use. |

TOffe for world domination with this tracker. You can even convert paradox- and H2O-nfo-files to jungle and breakbeat on the fly!

The link doesn't work for me!
I get:

Wouldn't this be a nice feature to add to MT3 then? |
