 |
For my radio programme, I am planning to drop working with cd's / vinyl and switch to audio files from a laptop. I don't intend to beatmatch songs that follow-up each other, although it would be a nice extra if the software could do it. I therefore am looking for a program that is suitable for the following:
*It must be able to playback atleast four audio files at a time
->seems no problem (Audition can do that)
*It must have a preview mode in which I can drag audiofiles to mix them smoothly together and listen to the result in realtime
->seems no problem too
*It must be able to switch between what it sends to the studio mixer (which is broadcasted) and a preview mode (so I can hear how something will sound)
->this will probably demand a multi-output soundcard? I hope not, since that will demand me to buy an extra one for my laptop. Nevertheless, I don't see how it can send two distinct signals through one output.
Anyone any ideas about this? |

I was thinking Traktor too. Unfortunately I don't know of any freeware/open source DJ software that would be any good (if anyone knows, post here please!). And yes, afaik you'll need a multi-output soundcard unless you are willing to send in mono. But have you checked that your laptop doesn't have the option to switch the line-in or mic-in to an output instead? |
