There seems to be a bug with the menu on the VST Tab (both the right-click context menu and the drop-down menu on the button beneath the list) to select a plugin. After using the Clear All or delete buttons on the Configuration/Plugins tab and then re-scanning, I can access this menu just once and then I get a message "List index out of bounds (1)".
This error persists until I re-scan the plugins again - then I can access the menu one more time, then the error comes back. The error only stops occurring after I restart MT2. It seems like the Clear All and delete buttons are doing something that stops the menu's items (or the list of available plugins that it is trying to access) from being properly maintained. The error doesn't happen if I just re-scan without clearing the list first. |

You mean you can use the "Clear All" button and then rescan without making the VST menu malfunction? That's odd, I can reproduce this error quite consistently. Perhaps it only occurs with certain settings? |

Yes, I've tried re-installing, etc.
I've been doing a bit more experimentation, and it seems that the error only happens when certain combinations of plugins are installed.
I'm fairly new to this, so since I purchased MT2 I've been testing out all sorts of plugins, installing, uninstalling, etc. I had installed some of the free synths from http://www.krakli.co.uk/freesynths.asp when I first got the "out of bounds" error. However, it seems that it only happens if these are the ONLY plugins installed. If I also install a more well-behaved plugin such as KarmaFX, the problem vanishes.
For example with the Richman2 instrument (from the link above) combined with KarmaFX, this is what happens:
KarmaFX only: no problem
Richman 2 only: "out of bounds" error.
KarmaFX + Richman2: no problem
So I guess strictly speaking this would be considered a bug with those particular plugins. But in the interests of making MT2 a more robust program, Yannick may want to find out what it is about these plugins that can interfere with the menu system (because I'm sure there must be others as well) and implement some error-checking code. The error doesn't come from the plugin but from MT2 itself, which appears to be trying to access an empty internal list. |
