Hi! As former Impulse Tracker user i have some trouble with Mad Tracker user interface
I hope I will get used to it soon, because i really like the sound quality and also functionality of Mad Tracker. But there are still some issues i just can't get used to!! ;(
1) Is there any way to start playing from current location? (not from beginning of pattern) It is really annoying if you have to play all the pattern when all you want is small fragment in the end or middle of it.
2) You can shift everything in track or pattern forward by pressing insert or shift + insert (respectively) but how can you do the opposite action? shift everything backwards?
3) Unfortunately my Impulse Tracker songs contain notes in octave 8-9 but Mad Tracker don't support that high notes and converts them into highest it can and my song is then messed up. but i guess i will have to live with that, cause this is not a "bug" and i guess Mad Tracker was not built to fully support Impulse Tracker modules.
I will be very thankful if somebody have a workaround for my problems!!! |

1. shift + Enter/Ctrl/AltGr plays from current postition
2. Use shift+backspace for that
3. You could transpose the affected channels down in IT, then resample the sample to the right pitch. A tedious job, but the only way I can think of getting the IT tunes to work correctly in MT. Like you said, Madtracker wasn't made for full IT support |

Many thanks for your advise! The shift + Enter/Ctrl/AltGr worked fine!! I wonder
why there is nothing about that in help!!
But shift+backspace is not working I tried backspace, shift+backspace and so on
but with no results. Am i doing something wrong? have somebody else had that problem? |

Have you checked that you are in record mode? Also, it doesn't work on the first line (since there's nowhere to move then).
actually, the shift + Enter/Ctrl/AltGr shortcut is mentioned in the help, just not under the Keyboard shortcuts (perhaps a more logical place, Yannick ), but under the Interface -> Main window -> play |

Thanks again!!
Yes, i was on the first line. I forgot that in mad tracker things are different
But is there any way to just play the current note or current line?
Like pressing 4 or 8 in impulse tracker. |

that I haven't heard of at least not that I know what good only playing one note/line of a song would do |

What good?
it's good when a want to hear how different samples/instruments sound together in my song and maybe there is some disharmony.
I don't know. I used that in impulse tracker and got kinda used to it. |

and one thing else. In that way i can easely control the speed and play slow, when i edit some part of my song. just press "4" and it plays current note and moves one line further, press "4" again and it plays new current note and moves one (or to be exact as meny lines as set in "add" box) further etc. It easier to edit that way
I don't know if you got my point. |

Yeah, I think I did. Might be good in some cases. I guess it's mostly a matter of getting used to. I'm used to looping the whole pattern and then listen for pitch-errors etc. |

Can't agree more with you rhyme, I really liked that function too! Sometimes I also miss it in MT but it doesn't really bother me, but it would be nice if it's gonna be implemented, just for anyone who likes it. |
