Hehehe yeah....

But I was kinda supporting the netherland-team during the worldcup cause I like Robben!
Have been mad at Van Basten though for not bringing up Davids and Makaay.

Didnīt know the thing about the houses.

Ooops...sorry for going off topic.

you live in Canada, why come to Europe?

Netherlands would be one of the worst places to live imo. Expensive and the Dutch politicians have very wacky ideas of where to go with this country...

We live in a democracy. These politicians didn't arrive there by miracles or fairies. I know its an in crowd thing to a certain extent, but you can't blame the politicians for their existing without taking into account that this is the basic result of such a system. The alternative is totalitarianism. Remember Hitler, Stalin, Pinochet, Pol and Mao? That's your alternative.

Are you voting for the animal party? or maybe the pedophilia party? Labour is thinking about having us working longer and paying more taxes so there's more money available for minority groups for better integration (which doesn't work anyway). Conservatives aren't much better.

We have almost the shortest working hours in Europe, apart from Scandinavia one of the best social security systems, a rapidly decreasing level of unemployment, a huge number of available jobs, good incomes and a stable current and future prospect. Sure, there are heaps of things going wrong (integration being one of the main issues, increasing individualism another) here, but that's the way things work. If you look at what we have, got and capable of, then the Netherlands are doing a rather good job.

You call increasing racism, polarization between ethnic groups, a lower financial prosperity and high levels of unemployment something that looks a lot better?

Things simply won't get any better for a while here. Why not Australia or New Zealand?

It's virtually impossible (just as Canada and the US) to get into these countries for a longer period of time. The xenophobia of Australia is one of the possible reasons why they are doing rather fine. The Netherlands are easy compared to these countries concerning immigration.

Seriously: open your eyes. I know that a lot of times don't go well here, but that's the case in every country. In my opinion, taking into account our position and abilities, we as a country are doing a rather nice job. Yes, you can throw the 'but they killed van Gogh and Fortuyn and sent Ali away' argument, or the 'but we have a pedophile party!' excuse, but these are incidents, not guaranteed trends. Look for example at Canada. In Bowling For Columbine, Michael Moore half-declared them holy and the promised land. Now, in Montreal a new Columbine event has taken place. Nothing is perfect. For an imperfect world, I'm happy to live in the Netherlands.

No offense, but I donīt know where you got your sources about "increasing racism" from.
It always depends on what part of Germany you live.
Iīve never seen Skinheads in my town (they come by when they wanna demonstrate once in a year or every 2nd year).
We got some of that fools in the eastern states though.
But actually they exist in other countries too, even USA and UK.
Well in my point of view - and I should know what Iīm talking about cause of living here and being half persian/paki and half german - I donīt see no increase of racism.
At least not more than in other countries.
You are right about your last point, though.
Unemployment is still a problem here.

there is a lot of racism in the UK and USA and its increasing. a lot sparked by the london bombings and obviously 9/11. also, the social segregation between ethnic groups is getting worse. no country is free from it unfortunately.

We should all live on an island with our computers: forget all this racial crap! Then we can live in harmony just make songs with madtracker and um... eat... um... fish or something. Except we won't have internet. Or electricity. Or fishing poles for that matter. So nevermind.
