Heh, rest assured I was unable to delete my first song. It seems no matter how hard I tried there was always another version of it I hadn't found. I'll take it as a sign and maybe later (when I don't suck at it) I'll take another look at it. Wink

Thanks for all the support so far, I haven't had any time at all (in fact I'm using my 'break' from my homework to type this post) to do more than tinker with the instruments I've found; maybe this weekend...

I've debated posting the tune, but I would rather finish it before I upload it onto here. And yes, my first song has been labeled incomplete: it has too much and not enough; I don't know what to do with it yet.

Oh, and thanks for the advice on one of my biggest fears of getting into music (or art in general). I suppose I shouldn't compare other things I do in excess to music, because in none of those other things does something truly productive or creative come out of it. (at least, the potential isn't there in the other ones Rolling Eyes)

I suggest not. I think after the first song the natural improvement should be enough. Getting all the criticism and points to improve for some piece of shit (which I don't doubt your piece is Wink ) can also be quite much to handle for a new musician. Well I only speak for myself. It took me, eh, 6-7 years until I posted anything to public.

Yeah but as a newbe you don't always know how to improve. i think criticism should be on the level the musician is. You don't have to go all the way into details about it, but just basics instuctions on how to move on. I posted the first song i ever made here, and the crit. i got was real helpfull for me to move on.
