I was unsure of the purpose of this piece so I improved it a bit. Here's the improved version. |

			 Cool guitar dub ..

There was actually no purpose at all, more than showing that you can make really fat sound with simple stuff, such as madtracker 2! Note that the sound in the line is "only" made out of looped waveforms, which "emulates" an one oscillator analogue synth!

About the notation of the line (which sounds quite "childish") it was just a bit of a test to set down a line which me and a friend has "sang" on (to sound like an analogue synth, yaknowwhatImean) since like 1997, and we have no clue where it comes from (except that we guess it comes from our heads!)

What's an oscillator analogue synth?
	 |

The oscillator is the part of the synth which creates the waveforms, i.e the TB303 has one oscillator which can create sawtooth waves and square waves, and the MiniMoog has three oscillator with different types of waveforms (dunno exactly which it have, but it has at least sawtooth, square and triangle). If you use three oscillators which are a bit untuned from each other (to make some sort of chorus effy), which filter is controlled from an envelope, you can get a really fat "booowww" sound, which describes the minimoog quite well |

I'm sure vfgdfg knows what an oscillator is...

Look at this:

an one oscillator, analogue-synth

an oscillator-analogue synth

At least that's what I thought the post was about |

.. this one emulates an three oscillator analogue synthesizer, which has one LFO controlling the filter sweep making it sound "baoowwiie" .. .. two of the oscillators (the one which makes the triangle waveform and the one that makes the sawtooth waveform), are each a bit untuned from the other two oscillators. This actually makes the sound a bit more fat.

They're also on one octave each.

In MT2 I have three tracks with one instrument each which emulates the oscillators. To emulate the LFO I have exactly the same filter settings on all three instruments. I have the track effect "filter" on all three tracks too, with "bi-peak" to get more bass on the otherwise quite weak waveforms.

Play around with it to make it sound better

Hope you like it! |

Don't mind too much about the line and the bpm btw (I just noticed that it sounds better at about 120-125 bpm..) |

correction, sawtooth waves and sine waves.. square waves are just overdriven sines in most cases.
