hi whats up!!
I'm in a kind of a distress, I'm Icelandic and can't perfectly understand English so I'm having a bit of a problem of getting started in MadTracker2. I used ImpulseTracker once and i thought this tracker being the same basically but it isn't. I need some help of getting started... Like; when I'm going to write drum patterns, am I not supposed to do it by pressing the buttons on my keyboard? If so, where do i choose the sounds to be able to write them down? I kind of hate it when something goes not planned, get impatient and turn off the program.
well, that'll be all for now, hoping for an answer soon... *wiping sweat of the forehead* *shy* :Þ |
I´m a newb, a noob, yes, but plz don't bugger me about it... :Þ |

Drum patterns are done with the mouse only. You click in the pattern and a dot appears. Sorry, I'm not a big fan of the drum patterns, especially now that MT has 64 channels I don't think I'll use them anymore. The idea is good, but the way you edit them is so a bit hindering IMO.
Anyway, not sure if Beatmax has covered drum patterns in his tutorial, but it might be worth checking out:

As Sunbuster said, you might consider programming drums the old-fashioned way, so just in one or more channels. In the end, programming that way is far more flexible, and enables loads of features that are impossible in your drum patterns.
Feel free to ask your way out whenever needed; help is always here in an accepteble time period
