Hi!
Is there anyone out there who knows a good software-based drum sampler, or something like that. A tool where you can generate drum samples (not only kick's but also snares etc) |

You mean a drum-/percussion-syntesizer.
I have heard that the software-version of
Waldorfīs "Attack" is good.
But you need a VST-host for this...
I have not found a demo for this prog, but here are some infos: http://www.waldorf-gmbh.de/products/attack/
Then there is "Stomper", itīs a free stand-alone-synth, but I donīt like the sound of this but you may try it.
Demo here: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~zap/stomper/index2.html
Thatīs the only two synths I know for creating beats/percussions.
Btw.
Here is an other link for a good synth-emulation of an JP8000
as a freeware-VSTi with some great presets:

the almighty classic analogue drum machines are of course the TR-808 and TR-909, which have pretty good looking replicas implemented in the Rebirth RB-338 software.
http://www.propellerheads.se/ is the official website of the developers, but if you want i can hook you up with a copy...(free!)

p.s. ... shhh!! |

I use the software multiband-compressor delivered with Wavelab 4.0. I donīt know much about compressors, but I think this one is good and it is free, if you know what I mean

Thanks for your advices.
I know the "stomper" too. But it's for kickdrums only. (correct me if i'm wrong)
Anyway. maybe someone knows a good recourse for decent quality drum samples. Especially snares. (especially "hard" snares, if you know what i mean) Maybe some sample-cd? |
