SEARCHING FOR...
I'm looking for a freeware/shareware Text-To-Speech application with singing capabilities. Windows version is preferred (Not to be confused with an application made by Microsoft, although that could help too!).
Even a download location for a translated version of SMARTTALK 3.0 (translated from japanese) would be very much appreciated. |

I got 'talkany' installed (do a search on google). It does both english and spanish, with presets on melodies.
AnalogX also made a standalone application for voice synthesis.

Well, I checked out each and every one on the list, and, alas, none were what I was looking for.
TalkAny comes close to what I'm looking for, but, well, the only way I can get it to sing the tune I want it to sing takes a bitch-load of time
So far, I've managed to time stretch, edit, and compile: TWO WHOLE SUNG WORDS! WOW!
Oh well, the search is still on... |

Cruddity fug drat! I've been looking, and looking, and looking, AND looking, and I can't find anything!!
Maybe I should take to extreme measures and see if Yahoo! would help, instead of Google or Mamma.com
edit: Wait! Scrap that!! I forgot to check out MBROLA, and the christmas example they've provided sounds great!
Maybe this is the one...?
edit_two: Ok, it is the one, but it isn't the one. Basically, it all comes down to whether or not it's easy to use, without hindering it's performance, and although this program can produce some amazing sounds (The christmas choir, for example ), it's too hard to use, and just not worth the time and effort for one highly lyriced and melodified vocal starters track!
edit_three: Typos And big words aren't always the best thing to use... Made up words on the other hand
edit_four: Ok, so I have a lot of spare time on my hands. Just noticed that I'm overusing the smiley faces Whoops!
I'll try not to use as many in the near future...
Eh heh heh heh... |

i made a song a while ago with TalkAny guy singing in it.. it took ages to make the vocals of course.. (word by word at different pitches, whoaaa!)
but if you want your desired sound, sometimes it pays to do extra work..

I don't think there's currently anything available that does exactly what you want: singing (quite logical, cause this is very hard to program)...
But you could try to do the vocals yourself or get one of your friends to sing (fun garanteed) |

Oh, TalkAny is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to work with. God, sooo demanding, and so CHOOSY! All I ever hear from TalkAny these days is "No! I wanna sing my crappy presetted microsoft tune because it's so crappy!"... Maybe I should stop typing that in
Yeah, I'm only looking for a simple program though. I'm only making a starters track, so then I can point out properly where the lyrics fit in, that's all

Well, I know that there are some programs that are able to do this. SmartTalk 3.0 is one. It's Japanese, and not available for download.
I remember there being another one about five years back. Wish I could remember the name...
Like I said before, I'm only making a starters track. One of my friends asked if they could sing it, and, yeah

DUDE!!! You've gotta be kidding me! That thing's REALLY not real??!?! Wow!!
Damn! I can't wait `til that comes out in Australia Woohoo! |
