I have got Madtracker set up as the midi controller for my Korg Electribe MX. The note data is sending just fine but I'm having some trouble sending MIDI CC's. It seems I can only send one command per channel per pattern. For example I can send the command C-4 2 CC 0730 and it will work but if I want to send another command D-4 2 CC 0760 after that it will not register with the Electribe. Only the first command I send is working and after that its no dice. I'm guessing maybe I'm just not getting the commands right or maybe the Electribe just isn't compatible with the way Madtracker sends CC data.
Does anyone know what might be going on here?
Does anyone know of any VST's that can be used to send CC's to Hardware? this would be even more preferable since then I could use automation to control the CC's instead of manual programming. |

Actually, the whole MIDI CCs have been one of the main mysteries to me about madtracker. Is there a guide as to what they do? |

The CC stands for Continuos Control. It is how Midi devices communicate certain information/commands between one another. There are 127 CC#s per MIDI channel and 16 Channels. Each CC can have a value of 0-127. CC's are generally used for things like controlling volume, synthesizer knobs etc but they could be used to control or automate pretty much anything the receiving device is programmed for, which could include visual effects for a live show or whatever else you could think of.
So basically what they do depends on the device you are sending them to and the Channel and CC# that you are sending. The device could be any kind of hardware or software (including VSTs) that supports MIDI.
In my case Im trying to use it to control the knob movements on a Korg Electribe MX. I already managed to get Madtracker to send note date properly but the CC commands still aren't working and I know its possible to do because I'm able to control the CC's with a separate program I have on my computer.
Iv done quite a bit of searching so far and it seems that getting ahold of a simple MIDI sequencer that can handle automated CC commands is damn near impossible. The closest thing would be something like Cubase or Logic but those programs are way to complex for what I'm trying to do. I haven't found any suitable VST's that work in Madtracker yet either. |

as far as i know midi cc-s are not completely implemented (just the basic ones) so unfortunatelly when you meet a difficulty which should not be there there's a good chance that it can't be overcome. |
