MT wont place notes

Hello guys
I decided to give sample instruments a try the other day by recording a bass sound into a file called 106Bass_A3.wav
After i made an instrument and added the sample, mad tracker stopped placing any notes whatsoever. The tone still plays but notes are not being placed regardless whether edit is on or off. I tried restarting the program several times and also my computer but nothing fixed it. Anyone know what could be causing the issue?
Thanks,
Chris

is your cursor in the correct column of the correct track? (right click on track name to arm it for record)

It sounds like you've accidentally activated "Multi-Channel Edit".

Sneaky little feature. Just hit that MCE checkbox to turn it off, or in the case of an older version of MadTracker, look through the configuration options for "Multichannel edit". :>
