 |
If I could make my own version of Madtracker I would like to be able to track and to have tracks like in a daw, and be able to move a sample up and down as normal or drag it left or right with the mouse, and record directly on the track with daw tools for sample cutting. A Tracker and Daw combined. A way for Daw users to learn how to track and the other way around as well. Here is a picture I made to show how my dream of madtracker would look like.

Anyway Madtracker is still my favourite music creating program.

Yeah, that would be nice. Also a key editor (matrix/piano roll) would add some spice.. and usability.
Maybe one would have to change the trackerinterface a bit in that case then, so you could see how long the note actually is. The resolution of the tracker interface isn't high enough that a simple "note off" command would be enough.. |

Here's a _really_ simple and bad sketch of what I mean..
http://dvibe.madtracker.net/Simple_mt_sketch.jpg
As you can see in the matrix editor, the note ends just before the 8th semiquaver (yeah, I looked that word up ) (16/4 or what to call it), and in the track you can see a mark that shows that it ends just before it.. One should be able to change the note length in the track aswell ofcourse.

Can we agree that Madtracker has been dead for a long time?
I occasionally visit the site to spam, but think it is sad that after years, there still isn't any hint of progress on the development front.
Any news on mt3, what features are you currently working on?
Why don't you (= Yannick ) release the sourcecode for mt2 anyway, even though you say it is messy? Is this an excuse because you feel ashamed of your coding , maybe it can inspire the existance of a new good tracker.
cheers,
