Hi,
Just wondered what the minimum specs would be for a Windows 7 laptop to run Madtracker cleanly & smoothly?
Thanks |

Not at all sure that it is meant to run with that system. Check the specifications of MT2 itself. |

Dont think you will get a definitive answer to that question because it will depend mostly on how many channels and VSTs you project has, and not so much about the program itself. If you use a lot of vsts that demand a lot of your cpu you may want to consider an i5 or i7 intel cpu.
Intel has just released a new line of cpus so you might want to watch out for sale on certain laptops the next weeks. |

definitely agree ... it all depends on what you're doing. personally, i haven't learned instruments or VST's yet (it's on my "to do" list), and all i'm using is samples. i'm running a toshiba with an i3 and win 7, and she runs beautifully. |

Thanks for the answers. I never use VSTs, I only use sampled instruments and the in-built fx. |

i just recently started using the vst's. they're not as difficult as i thought to begin with, especially the synths. think about vst's like this: they're just like using a sample, but you can change what the sample sounds like.
with the synths ... it's like you start with a tone, and all the functions in the vst change the aspects of that tone. once you have the sound of the sample you want, you go back to the madtracker and write your music just like you would with samples.
the i3 processor i'm using on my laptop is running fantastic. i personally haven't figured out how to install more vst's, but i'll learn that eventually. |
