I think I remember reading that Yannick said that Madtracker was built using a computer system with multiple processors. But I have a question: does madtracker itself make use of multiple CPUs?

From what I can remember: yes. It's the primary argument that Yannick used against himself to justify the acquisition of a dual cpu rig Very Happy

MT2 doesn't support multiple CPU's, but MT3 will.
