Hi I've just got me a Yamaha CS1x and after fooling around with it for a week or so, I decided to try an record some loops from it... I made a nice drumbeat in MT and set the BPM to 120. Then I set the BPM to 120 on the CS1x. I recorded some samples but I found out that the loops from the CS1x was out of sync... Then I started to investigate. I found that eventhough the BPM in MT was set to 120, it played as it was set to 199,9674 BPM. Is there someway to avoid this? /FoZ

Not as far as I know, but mouseover the BPM field in MT2 to find the accurate BPM and set your keyboard to that.

Providing that your keyboard handles decimal placed BPMs, of course.

Is there a list somewhere where I can see what BPMs are exactly as they are shown? I've seen 70, 75 and 125 so far..

You know that has been a really, really, really age-old problem I've had with MadTracker. The BPM's aren't accurate, so recording something that is accurate makes big headaches. Yannick has said once that you just have to live with it... until MT3 that is. Hmmm... come to think of it, that's his answer quite often isn't it? ~Brian

Well, it's not that I can't live with it... I mean 120 BPM or 125 BPM is not a big deal. I just wondered if there was some way to make the BPMs accurate. /FoZ

Try setting LBP to 5 instead of 4 (default). This should provide you with BPM = 120,0000 which I would think would be accurate enough Martin

Not quite, as it would seem, unfortunately.
See, an extra line would have to be inserterted between every beat, as to maintain the original "gist" of the song.

Well, the LBP=5 idea works. But only if I use a drumbeat with bassdrum and snare. I found that uneven LBP numbers and hihats don't work very well together. I think I'll write down the BPM numbers that are accurate, and post it somewhere. /FoZ

Well, this "bug" has infected all trackers of today to PC. From Fasttracker to Renoise. This is due because of it's built out of ticks instead of milliseconds. It would be quite impossible to fix this for MT2, I guess... It's not a bug btw, it's a math-bug Very Happy

Yeah, since MT3 won't any longer be buildt of ticks, but of milliseconds, just like Cubase and Logic for example. /Daniel

I once wrote down all the exact BPM settings in Madtracker from 120 thru 200 BPM. But I lost the list, and I�m too lazy to do that again Anyone? Be my guest!

I tried it out and you get most precise values for these BPMs. 35 (the lowest value, 25 isn`t possible) 41 is ok too. (41,0004) 42,45,49,50,63,70,75,90,105,125,126,147,150,175,210,225 If you now some more please tell me, but for now there should be enough to work with. 175 BPMs is nice for D'n'B btw. BMX
