well.. i have a few problems with these so called 'smilies' here on this and many other forums..
the problem is, they smile too much!
you see, i personally think a colon-bracket smilie, that is, a : ) smilie should just smile.. without the teeth.. while a laughing smilie should show its teeth, and not do that whole jiggle-the-lips thing that these guys here have going on..
in other words.. remember the smilies from the previous forum? i think they were better. well.. the 'smile' smilie and the 'laugh' smilie were anyway..
does anyone else share my thoughts? or am i really going crazy?

Your green
yeah I agree, the shouldn't show it's teeth at least... the should't show it's teeth either, makes it look chinese instead of mad... But I guess these smileys are pretty much standard in the phpBB forums |

that pic doesnt seem to work for me until i paste its URL into a new window..
anyway, yeah similar to that. i had in mind just a plain old stock-as-a-rock yellow circle with 2 black dots and a line. like.. 4 bit, 16 colour stuff that can be made using Paint.
<- this one's good though!

I think the smileys are great as they are, though yeah, they smile too much.
What if one of these smilies is used as a base to make, um, less smilier smilies? So to speak. |
