Please post info on remix competitions to this topic.
Right now, there's only one competition that I know of. The remix kit and other stuff is here:

EDIT: deadline is March 1st, 2004
There was also a Front 242's classic headhunter remix competition on Future Music magazine last year, but unfortunately I missed the deadline.

Indeed, if deadlines are available!
Of course, some projects seem to go on forever, like this one. The link below is not really a competition, but I believe they wouldn't mind if someone did some more Star Control 2 remixes of quality. (Wouldn't it be tempting to set up those original .MOD files to your madtracker... )
