Hey,

I haven't been around much, I'm sure you missed me, I've been bit musically uninspired lately. Well anyway I now made a remix from the good old master piece, Mark Gray's Last Ninja 2 level 1 theme. enjoy!

Hmm this is a very nice tune. Good breaks, nice chip sounds (they sound very SID-like to me), nice guitars (live recorded?). It sounds good together. Haven't played Last Ninja 2 yet (downloaded the c64 & amiga versions a few months ago), so can't compare to the original. Overall it sounds good to me.

However there's something missing. Maybe the song lacks the atmosphere I associate with ninja's (uh of course this is more a personal thing). OR maybe I feel it's a bit too long, I'm not sure. It doesn't keep me listening and so I had to repeat it a few times to get the impression. I don't know if you can do anything with these comments since it doesn't really define MY problem with it, I'm sorry about that.

Hey,

I dunno what "SID" means but chip sounds should sound quite original since it is the original song in the background all the time Very Happy I've only added guitars (not live but in shorter/longer samples recorded for their purpose as I usually do), drums, bass and some very little other things and extended some parts I like (it's about one minute longer than the original).

I loved Last Ninja 2 when I was a little boy and this tune was my favourite which is probably why I still get so much kicks from it. I agree it doesn't sound very "ninjaish" but the music in the game just happends to be quite rock'n'rollish, Last Ninja 1 on the other hand has more "ninja associated" music I guess. Also after all it is originally a background theme for a game so I guess it's not supposed to catch your attention very much, although personally I do enjoy every part of my beautiful remix haha Laughing

SID was the soundchip of the C64. Dunno on which version this is based.
