Need recommendation on mixers

I'm considering purchasing a new mixer under the $100 USB range and mixer models I'm looking at right now are Behringer Eurorack, Gemini, Nady, Numark's and M-Audio. The Behringer Eurorack UB models look good and inexpensive. Anyone have experience with these mixer manufacturers?

I have two Behringer-mixers, MX2004A and MX602A .. And I've not found any problem with them at all. They're inexpensive and gain high quality. I'm sure that there are other ppl who will say other things now, as Behringer unfairly, has gained bad reputation.

No, I don't think there are any problems with them. The only fact I can look at is that it's
1: cheap
2: not that easy to repair.

That's the only two facts I can find that make its bad reputation. Ppl tend to think that just because a unit is expensive, it's necesarry much better than the cheap ones.

oh ok.. i actually read great reviews about berhinger, particularly because its value for money.. pretty cheap, and yet quite a good bunch of features compared to similarly priced numark or gemini mixers.. dunno about the studio equipment though..

At the radiostation where I make my program, we use both Behringer compressors as enhancers. As C-frog said, it's just that people tend to think that more expensive *always* is better Smile For semi-professional usage, Behringer should in general be okay.

well at the club we're i'm a sound engineer we have some beringer stuff too, compressors and gates. and to be honest, I realy hate them Smile

well, if you want the tom's of a drumkit to stand out it then becomes a great tool to use the gates, because everytime the gate opens ( and it doesn't matter how long I set the attack time ) it always clicks, and this gives a great punch in the toms Smile
But I'm sure that's not the idea behind them Smile

And as for mixers, behringer has made good budget mixers but I'm just not fond of the layout. When I'm mixing a band live, I'm using an Allen & Heath mixer, wich gives me good results. I think they have some smaller mixers for studio use, so check it out, but if you're going DJing go for the pioneer mixers, there just awsome in terms of inputs and FX's

I've never had any problems with Behringer-products, and I've used quite a lot of them during my 3 years of sound engineering-studies in school. Behringer Virtualizer PRO DSP2024P multieffect and Behringer Eurorack MX2642A for example has never given me any trouble in the studio. Just because they're cheap doesn't have to mean that they suck.

well I must admit that we have the most cheap ones of the behringer range... I mean the composer range is quite good actualy. I just want to point out that going to cheap isn't going to help you very much...

yeah, except that the pioneer equivalent of the berhinger djx700 (which is the pioneer djm500), costs around $500 AUD more... same effects, same channels, the mixers actually looks almost the same..

Right now I'm looking at the Behringer UB models and I must say, for ~$80 USD, the UB1202 looks great as a personal home mixer. Remember, I'm only looking for stuff way under $100, unless you all can convince me of another make/model better than the 1202 and that can be purchased here in the U.S. ... and, ahem, under $100. Smile

I've found some of the UB models at www.Musiciansfriend.com, which is based here in Oregon. I would have to buy it online though, as the main store is physically a good 4-5 hour drive.

For reference, here are the 1202 specs page and the UB mixer cross-ref matrix, resp. :
