Hi folks,
I was just wondering if there was any way that you could make live recording more accurate in madtracker. It just seems to be a bit "floppy", i.e placing notes out of time, even though I know I played them right. I know there is a latency issue but on my P4 2.4 GHz it is not an issue. Every tracker that I have used has this problem with the exception of the ancient Fasttracker which actually did a very good job of real time recording. If I could resolve this problem, Madtracker would be so much more instant for getting down my ideas.
Please!! Can anyone help me!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The thing that helped me was increasing the # of lpb. Don't know what u're using at the moment, but try x2(8 instead of 4) and then expand the pattern...gives u better resolution. |

Never entered notes live, but as inhousepussy already suggested, resolution will be the key characteristic here. The higher the resolution, the more accurate the placement of the notes played. A good idea for that would be to expand your pattern (128) and doubling the bpm. I never used LPB settings, so maybe I'm just saying the same as IHP here
Make sure to set your audio settings as tight as possible. Try buffer=4 & size=10, which should be quite accurate concerning the relation between playing and recording.

Hey InHousePussy,
I've recently heard some of your music and man it rocks. Well played! You ever had any success in the commercial field and do you play anywhere? Would be interesting to know. |
