I don't see any use of them at all, at least not anymore. there are 64 tracks to work in, and if that's not enough you probably make very complex music and therefor the drumpatterns should still not be in your interest, to simple. Tha's my 2 cents.

no, like Toffe said I don't see any use of them anymore. Back when we had only 32 channels, I sometimes used the drumpatterns as a backup, used them to play effects etc. But I never actually used them for drumprogramming, they are too limited for that.

I used them too because I think its more easy to handle if you can choose between two patterns musical and percussive, tho you cannot apply the usual pattern effects. Its just nice what you can acchieve if you just "draw" in the samples Smile I think its the visual way of editing I like.

But the thing is u can put samples between lines in the track sequencer too..
The thing I like about the drum patterns is the conveniency of detached perc.or FX(as mentiond earlier). Wink

Shocked Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Shame, shame.
Man, still got loads to learn 'bout the damn program.
But besides this I use drum patterns to make the normal patterns easier to overlook. Everything got his own place in the song.

Thats exactly the way I follow too. Pity that VST effects cannot be applied to the drum pattern tracks.
